The new album reportedly not out before the tour kicks off

Arcade Fire’s fifth studio album that many thought would be out ahead of the tour kicking off on June 3rd, with their headline slot at Primavera Sound in Barcelona, now looks set to be released a fair bit later on in the year. This comes after the organisers of the Eurockéennes festival in France reportedly said during a press conference the album would not be out by the time the band headlines their festival on July 9th. They did however say the band would play new songs.

This is a bit of an odd move, but it’s actually not the first time the band’s done this. When they released The Suburbs in 2010 they toured it during the summer months (June-July) to then release it in August. Maybe a repeat of that this year? Release it in connection with Lollapalooza maybe?

Stay tuned for all LP5 updates here as they trickle in.
