Save TPS!

Ronyde Christina Ponthieux (in the middle) and Win Butler.

Arcade Fire last night at Watsco Center in Coral Gables/Miami just before they played Haiti invited the 10-year-old Haitian-American girl Ronyde Christina Ponthieux up on stage where she advocated for the extension of the temporary protected status (TPS) for Haitian immigrants. Win Butler just before he invited her up on stage said Donald Trump is trying to get rid of TPS – ‘that can’t stand!’.

Ronyde Christina Ponthieux said she’s going to Miami Shores Elementary School and that she’s a motivational speaker and a young leader in the organisation Haitian Women of Miami. She asked for an 18-month extension to the policy that grants Haitian immigrants temporary protected status in USA. Watch the full speech below.

Very impressive. What did you do when you were 10 years old! Amazing. #SaveTPS!
